How to safely remove the blank from form

Here is a detailed guide on how to remove the blank from the form after the epoxy resin cures:

1. Prepare for Removal:

  • Identify which short side of the form you will remove to take out the cured epoxy blank. Both short sides are removable, so choose the one that is most convenient for you.

2. Remove End Cap(s):

  • Locate the end cap(s) on the chosen side of the form.
  • Remove the three bolts securing the end cap(s) using a suitable tool. These bolts are paired with galvanized steel threaded inserts to ensure durability and longevity.

3. Loosen the Blank:

  • Take a wide chisel or putty knife and place the flat side of the blade against the HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) material of the form, precisely at the point where the blank meets the bottom piece of the form.
  • Lightly tap the chisel with a hammer to loosen the blank from the form. The cured epoxy blank should pop loose from the form.

4. Remove the Blank:

  • Once the blank is loosened, gently pull it away from the form. The blank should come out easily without much effort. If you encounter resistance, proceed to step 5.

5. Additional Assistance (if needed):

  • If the blank is thicker or giving you trouble during removal, repeat the same process to remove the end cap from the other side of the form.
  • Use the chisel and hammer to tap along the edges of the blank to encourage it to detach from the form.

6. Resetting the Form:

  • Inspect the end cap(s) you removed to ensure the gasket is fully seated and free of any debris.
  • Reattach the end cap(s) to the form, ensuring they are securely fastened.
  • Apply the chosen releasing agent to the form according to the manufacturer's recommendations to prepare it for the next pour.

7. Ready for the Next Pour:

  • With the end cap(s) securely reattached and the releasing agent applied, your form is now ready for another pour of epoxy resin.

8. Clean-Up:

  • Clean any excess epoxy residue from the form and surrounding area to maintain its cleanliness and efficiency for future use.

By following these steps, you can effectively remove the blank from the form after the epoxy resin cures and prepare the form for the next pour with ease.
